What is it?
Musculoskeletal pain is pain caused by an injury to a muscle, bone, nerve, or other involved in body movement. It can be caused by many things, including a long lasting disease or accident. People suffering from musculoskeletal pain may experience the following:
- Sharp pain
What can I do about it?
Sometimes, musculoskeletal pain will go away on it’s own. However, if the pain is strong or lasts for a long time, you may need to get treatment. Physical and occupational therapy are two of the main ways to treat musculoskeletal pain. Itf your pain lasts for more than 2 weeks or is unbearable, go to see a therapist. There are also some things that you can do to treat the pain yourself such as:
- Apply a hot or cold pack over the area that hurts
- Try to rest your body so that it can heal
- Eat a healthy diet so that your body can heal quicker
- Drinks lots of water
